It obviously came about from necessity and I'm fine with it being something he's just Good at and feels neutral about the activity itself, or that he quietly enjoys it but it's not a passion. I haven't mentioned this yet because I haven't written about specific events in 479-483, but I really love Kakashi being an excellent cook. Also I was slightly delirious, so I only had room to be angry about one (1) thing in my brain and we know what that was!) If I remember correctly, we watched the last 23? 24? episodes in one sitting (I was begging my brother to let me go to sleep around 490 or 491, but he wouldn't hear of it), so at the same time I was left wondering about someone or needed something better resolved, I was getting Team Gai giving us the most chaotic energy conceivable or I was HOWLING with laughter at Shikamaru and Temari awkwardly overthinking what the other was thinking in the most hilarious way possible and Choji having the time of his life about it (I'm not in it for the shipping stuff as you know, but what they did with Temari and Shikamaru was exquisite).
(I kinda touched on this a tiny bit in the other post, but looking back on it, I think I just didn't have time to feel upset by the things that were left out of 479 and rightfully belonged in that episode's time-frame, but were at least touched on in the final seven episodes. I AM SO INCREDIBLY OVERJOYED FOR YOU! That must have been such a light and unburdened feeling of relief to get back a little of what you thought you’d lost. I was going to put this in the replies of your post, but then I remembered I wanted to include a couple screenshots, so here's a full-fledged post.
