It slows me down because I have trouble with this color. It would be nice if someone from Microsoft can please assist with this issue. This has to be a clue as to why this will work.
The only instance I saw change is when I had a machine at work that already had Office 2010 installed, with those fixes so it had the black selection background and a new Office 2016 install seemed to inherit the changes to use the black selection background. This problem is reproduced on any machine, and even on brand new machinesĥ.I have used the login for Office and changed the theme to Black in Office, but this does not change the selected text color at all. I have tried several variations of "Personalize" in Windows 7 and it changed the color of "Selected Items" in every application on the computer but not MS Office 2016Ĥ. Hight contrast themes are not an option, they remove all color and I am not color blind, but can't work with the pale gray periodģ. I am not looking to "highlight" text permanently, I am temporarily selecting text and want the shading NOT to be the pale gray but a darker colorĢ. I have seen several threads with people asking about this, many people being obnoxious and many not understanding the problem and giving useless information. When I contacted Microsoft, they told me the issue was resolved in Office 2016, much to my dissabppointment and frustration this was not the case. When I bought 2013 I found I couldn't fix this issue, couldn't change anything in the registry to make the grayĪ black color and text turn white while selecting text. But in Office 20 you are stuck with this pale gray selection color that isn't always visible. Same was true for Word 2010,Ī minor regedit and it was fine. This changed in Word 2007, I was able to fix that with a minor registry edit.
Been using MS Office for decades, used to be able to drag the mouse over a section of text and have it change to white text with a black Background.
